Ipoh weekend-Korean Buffet

hehe...it was a long weekend and i went with Aaron's family to a korean buffet in Ipoh called the Riche Montana korean barbecue ( more info please visit here).

It was a great meal and the food was very nice. We can either try steambot or BBQ the food. The restaurant offered a lot of varieties and they even provided a lot of cooked food ( if you are too lazy to do steambot or bbq, then you can just eat the food they served. hehe...)

BBQ or steambot? up to you...

plenty of food for you to cook.

some cooked food for you to eat while waiting for the food to cook. actually there are plenty more just that I forgot to snap the pics because too busy eating. hehe...

the "professional eaters" of the night. (i look like a teddy bear in this pic, no?please say no.... :D)

ohya, they offered some desserts and drinks as well, but then no pics. hehee...next time if going again shall take the pics then. hehe...

But what happened after he got back to room? :P

fly, aeroplane fly!

I once heard this statement from a girl saying: " I cannot understand why boys like to fly planes!no matter how old they are!".

well, that's a statement hard to explain. hehe...so, yea, some of us, the guys, went and flew the plane the other day. not the real plane, just a remote control plane. :)

some minor maintenance check before taking off...

the owner of the plane was flying the plane, another guy friend was holding the remote control. :P

oh ya, it flew!

wheee.....

perfect....

owh....it landed!

hehe...yea, of course it crashed a few times and didn't really fly high the first few times. but after that, the second day, it flew high up and circled few rounds in the sky! hehe...it was such a thrilling moment! huhu...

An old house

Hi there, sorry people, it has been a while since I last updated, was really busy and tied up with my Final Year Project and also upcoming test. But still, i find time to update! hehe...

It is still Chinese New Year, and yea, just wish to share some experience when I went back home for the celebration.

This year, i went back to visit my mother's old house. Yea, in case you din know, i grew up by the river last time when i was very very young ( less than 5 years old that time).

Took some pictures, just to share with you all. :) hehe...

the wooden old house, the place i grew up as a Kampung boy, or river boy...hehe....

this is the long infamous wooden bridge that connects the river deep into the jungle. :D

the river view...see the colour of the river? :) It's the Baram River.

another view of the river, note the colour of the river, hehe...it's getting darker due to the landslide of the riverbanks.

anyone has any idea what is this? hehe... it's the floating toilet. :) interesting? hehe...

haha....glad the house is still there. but dunno when will be the next time i ever see it again. :) hope it is still there the next time i go back . hehe...

First day of Chinese New Year-Foo chow style

During the first day of Chinese New Year, according to the foo chow's tradition (according to my grandfather perhaps), we need to take "mee sua"(longevity noodles) with chicken soup. :) super yummy...hehe...

first, the noodles are put into the boiling water to cook it.

then, the noodles are taken up from the boiling water...lol

then the noodles are mixed with the well cooked chicken soup...

everyone will get one bowl! hehe...here's the trick, if u want to eat less noodles, finish the noodles fast, if you finish the noodles slowly, the noodles will keep on increasing as the time goes. why? cause the water will soak the noodles and expand the noodles thus making the noodles seem longer! hehee...

and of course, we eat with the chicken as well....very tasty! super like it. you all should try! heheh...

Happy Chinese New Year once again! Gong Xi Gong Xi. :D

Happy Chinese New Year 2010!

Happy Chinese New Year everyone! Wish you and your family a blessed and prosperous year ahead! Hope that everyone will enjoy and strive for the year of tiger! :D

This year's celebration was a bit special for me as I went back to Marudi then Lubok Nibong to celebrate the New Year with my grandfather and some relatives. Just in case if you all don't know, Lubok Nibong is a suburban area of the Baram district, the place by the Baram river, the place where I grew up. hehe...

My grandfather cooked well, and he prepared mostly all the dishes for the reunion dinner. :)

steamed fish. :) (anyone knows the name of the fish in English? I only know is Bai Mu in mandarin...LOL)

chicken with corns and mushrooms.

fried boiled egg with minced meat.

this is my favourite, fried pork cooked with pineapples. sweet and sour...yummy....

all the dishes for the night...super a lot right? just for 7 of us. huhu....we are all big eaters. >.<

hehe...Happy New Year 2010! I am sure you all had a great reunion dinner too right? :D

Gong Xi Gong Xi!

What does a signboard do?

Took this picture a while ago when I was "wandering" around in Ipoh town.

I guess not just in Ipoh, this phenomenon does happen in a lot of places. hehe...

perhaps the signboard "encouraged" or "dared" the people to throw more? :D just a saying. hehe...

Chinese New Year expectations

Chinese New Year is around the corner. The exciting thing is I am going back to my hometown soon! For this year, I am going back to celebrate the New Year with my grandfather back at his house.

I wonder how the preparation at home is going on. My mother has been saying she wanted to change new flooring, and she has been asking me about it since last year! I suggested to her the trade show flooring that can be found online. Nevertheless, getting new flooring can be a big project, so I suggested trade show carpet as well. Anyhow, I hope this year when I go back there will be some new things in the house! At least maybe some logo mats on the floor to welcome me? That will be a good idea.

Besides, my grandfather also mentioned about having a big scale reunion dinner this year, and I am not sure how to help him on that. But, I suppose getting him a logo canopy might cheer things up! I shall go and search about it now. It’s so exciting to have so many things to look forward to this year. How about you? I hope you will have a great year ahead as well!

Big Tree, Pasir Pinji

I have been hearing about this "Big Tree" for quite some time already from my friends, and finally this year i got to witness the "magnificence" of this big tree.

Of course, I didn't prepare anything to go there and pray to the tree la, instead i brought along my big stomach to enjoy the food there. :D

The "Big Tree" is quite famous in Ipoh for its yong tau fu (yong liu) and the red bean blended drink. It is located in Pasir Pinji, if you are not familiar with Ipoh town, you can just ask anyone on the street for directions to the "Big Tree" in Pasir Pinji and they will show you the way. :D

vast varieties of yong liu to choose from. :)

yummy yummy...

I ordered this, "chap ko suet"(mix fruit), quite big portion, cost RM3

actually i am a big "drinker" as well, so i ordered another drink, the famous red bean blended, cost RM3.50. :)

then of course, the yong liu and the dry curry mee hoon, super yummy, total cost was RM 5.60 ( cheap right, i took a lot of yong liu!).

and yea, the end result was, super bloated. LOL....nice place! hope to go there and try the red bean blended again! super tasty! hehe...
