Page Rank

If you have been blogging for quite some time, you would be very familiar about this word “Google Page Rank”. You might come across bloggers saying:” oh my goodness, my blog’s page rank dropped again,” or someone might say:” yes, my PR has increased!” And you might come across advertisements like how to boost your Google page rank by doing this and that.

Well, what is exactly Google page rank and what decides the rise and drop of it? Google Page Rank is actually a numerical weighting system that is used by Google to figure out the importance of each and every website in the world wide web. In other words, the higher your Page Rank (out of 10), the more popular and important your page or website is to Google on the search engines. Page Ranks works by using a series of votes and the more the votes, the higher the Page Rank is. And if those votes come from important or high rank websites, the rank will climb higher.

How to increase the page rank of your website? There are certain ways to increase the ranking by either inserting certain words or phrase into your blog or website and link them to other high rank websites on the web. There are people who invest money in paying Google adwords in order to link their websites to articles that have specified keywords.

But then, there’s one way to increase your website’s ranking without any fee, that is to submit your blog or entries to business web directory. Of course it takes time for your website to climb up the ranking system, but the directories do help in one way or another. So, why don’t you try it out today? All the best!

My page rank is 3...and I'm not bothered. After all, mine is not a money-spinning blog so it does not matter whether it goes up or down... Just doing it for the fun of it...and when I get bored, I will just close shop.
