Wandering around Penang Town

While wandering around to look for the murals and food, I managed to snap some pics of different parts in Penang too. I would say there are a lot of history and preserved inheritance around in Penang.

Penang Murals

It was again a spontaneous trip to Penang (I then realized most of my trips are spontaneous and without much planning. LOL). My friends just suggested "Let's go for two days trip to Penang! We shall drive!" and there we went. The first thing we did when we arrived in Penang was of course to eat. haha...but after that, we focused on finding the wall murals that many people talked about.

I think this is from a different artist, but I find the drawing quite interesting and meaningful. It says "Our art is dying"

It was a fun trip as we explored around to find all the drawings which where located at different parts of the town. There were still some murals that we didn't manage to find as we were too tired and hungry so decided to call it a day. haha...But yeah, it was great fun!

New World Park Food Court, Penang

The food court is located at Swatow Lane, Penang. They offer a lot of nice and tasty food. It was my second time going there and i still trying new types of food!

the fried kueh tiao. the special thing is they have the "lak cheong" (marinated sausage). yeap, it tasted nice! but a bit small portion for RM3.50

the curry noodles. it looks nice and a lot of ingredients. hehe

If not mistaken is called "aptai", some mamak food. tasted quite and special. a bit sour and sweet. :)

hehe...i suddenly realise my blog is turning into a food blog already. hmmm...not quite what i had in mind but i think it's ok right? hehe...alright, will post up something different afterwards. :) hehe...

Sunshine Restaurant in Penang

During the trip to Penang, we went to a restaurant in Tanjung Bungah, it's called the Sunshine Restaurant. The restaurant is along the roadside to Batu Ferringhi.

There were 6 of us and we ordered 5 dishes. the dishes were quite big portion and they tasted nice!

the sea snails...hmm...they actually tasted quite nice...at first i thought were some fish....

my favourite, the fried chicken i think. dunno wat's the ingredient, but tasted a bit salty, not too salty but just nice. :)

this is my another favourite, fried fish with yam. super good! highly recommended. hehee...

Penang got too much food liao...eat also tired. hahahhaha......next time let's go again!

Swensen's

Went to Penang Island the other day with Aaron and family. After window shopping at Queensbay Mall, we were a bit tired and wanted to have tea break. Since it was a special occasion (not going to tell what it is...hehe...), so we decided to go for something more "luxurious".

At first we wanted to go for Chili's, but then it was full and we don't want to sit at the smokers area to kill our lungs, so we toured around again to see if there's anything else we could have.

And, we ended up in Swensen's! We ordered 4 dishes...

I would say it was indeed very luxurious, the ice cream was great ( if not it won't be so famous right?). I personally like the Banana Crumble, very tasty, and the ice cream just didn't melt on the bananas. FYI, the pie was on a sizzling pan! it was scotching hot and yet the ice cream didn't melt instantly. ehhe...they poured a cup of caramel on top of the ice cream and the banana pie, the taste was great even though a bit too sweet. hehe...nice! maybe next time we can go again ya? :)

Penang Trip 2010-Breakfast

looks delicious? they taste delicious as well! most of the food are very nice, I prefer the curry mee, a bit spicy but then just nice. hehe....Penang is always full of glorious food. stay tuned for more food next post. hehe..

Penang Food Trip-Day 3

We were in Penang for 3 days, for the last day, we went for breakfast and then departed from Penang back to Ipoh after sending Andy to college.

The trip was very enjoyable and fruitful, well, most fruitful for the stomach. hehe...So for the breakfast, we also took some heavy and tasty ones. :)

Hehe...after nice and peaceful breakfast, we sent Andy to college then started out journey back to Ipoh. It was a good trip, gonna miss the moments and food especially. haha...thank you Aaron and family for the treat and trip. :D

Penang Food Trip - Day 2

It was another beautiful day. The weather was nice, the location was great, and the eaters were in the mood of having more food, glorious food(quoted from Aaron). haha...

So, this time around, where did we go?

Brunch at Newworld Food Court

a lot of ba zhang ( pork meat dumplings), but got other more attractive food. hehe...

Dinner at Kimberley Street

the chicken hor fun(noodle)...the soup very nice, got the chicken smell. haha...

the stewed chicken drumsticks and eggs, super nice, personally like this one very much. :)

chicken feet, taste quite nice also, is recommended if you don't mind eating chicken feet (some elders said might contribute to one's ugly handwritings, LOL).

the dummplings, yeap, highly recommended, taste great.

quite a lot of ingredients, not many people like it though so ended up I whalloped the whole thing. the taste was quite ok for me (everything also ok for me, lol, that's why some of my relatives said i am quite easy to feed, give what also can eat. lol), just that got some strong smell, which was assumed to be because of the pork blood jelly.

after that we go for soya bean milk! this one taste very nice. you can find along the Kimberley street and look for this uncle. :)
