David's diner in Ipoh

Went to David's Diner at Greentown Square in Ipoh the other day before going for CNY. It was an American style restaurant and thus, the portion of the food served was really huge ( the people serving there were very big size as well! LOL).

the atmosphere in the restaurant, quite american style in a way.

the water melon juice, nice shape and design of the cup. hehe...

mushroom soup as appetizer

or fresh vegetables salad as an alternative ( Garden Salad)

another appetizer, Southwest Egg Rolls

then the main course, grilled chicken with two side dishes- fries and mashed potatoes

another main course, grilled fish with macaroni and baked potatoes

then fried chicken with mixed vege and salad potatoes

their special homemade brownies with ice cream as dessert

another set of brownies with ice cream as dessert.

overall, the food was really great and filling. we ordered set for each one of us and we were really bloated.

Besides, the price for one dinner set was really cheap, it was around RM30 for one set and the set included one drink (juices or others), appetizer (mushroom soup or garden salad), another mouthwasher (egg rolls or others), main course with two side dishes, and dessert ( brownies with ice cream). That's quite cheap for me considering the quality and portion of the food served. and yea, they really serve Truly American Food!

I hope to go there again. hehe..thank God for good food.

Pizza for Chap Goh Meh

It was the last day of Chinese New Year, or some of us we called it "Chap Goh Meh", and some of my friends invited me to join them for dinner to spend the night together. We decided to have Pizzas for the night. hehe...so, we went to Pizza Hut. :)

We ordered Chicken Supreme and Island Supreme for 3 of us. :)

Chicken Supreme pizza

Island Supreme pizza

The meal costed us around RM47 as we ordered combo meal for 4. hehe...it was very filling as there were only 3 of us that night. Personally, i would prefer the Island Supreme over the chicken supreme as the taste is nicer and it has a lot of ingredients in it, especially with pineapple in it. hehehe...

Happy Birthday!

It was Miss Siu Ying's birthday and we decided to go down Ipoh to celebrate for her. As she felt like having Japanese food that day, we decided to go for Japanese Restaurant in Ipoh! It's Tomi Japanese Restaurant located behind Jusco, Ipoh. :D

Miss Siu Ying, can't believe I have known her since primary school, it has been almost 15 years!!! ( i think so. LOL).

those who went for the dinner celebration that day. :D who's the most handsome one? LOL.

yea, that's how much we ate for 4 people. I like the prawn sushi, it's super nice and tasty, i think the prawn was still very fresh when it was served. hehe...

It was a great outing for 4 of us, enjoyed the laughters and also the teasing part. hahaa...hope to have more outings in the future! and yea, happy belated birthday Siu Ying! wish you have a blessed year ahead! hehe..

Fruit Basket

I still remember during my younger days, I always visited my relatives and friends whenever I was having my holidays. Sometimes, I will stay over their houses for a couple of nights to spend time with the friend or my cousins. Somehow, I am the type that like to hang out at people’s houses rather than own house. Perhaps I like the fellowship and spending time, but I do think I need to spend more time with family as well.

Even so, my mother never discouraged me from visiting my friends or relatives; she didn’t mind me spending a couple of nights in my friend’s or relative’s houses as well. But, she would always remind me to bring some present or gifts to the house as an act of manner and respect. According to her, this is a way of showing appreciation to the people we visiting.

But then, I always find it a bit challenging as I don’t really know what kind of gifts I should bring as I am not the gifts-type of person. Anyhow, mothers will always be mothers and they always offer good advices. She told me to bring fruits or sometimes Fruit Basket as they are appropriate and not too luxurious or expensive. Maybe you should try it out too.

Ipoh weekend-Korean Buffet

hehe...it was a long weekend and i went with Aaron's family to a korean buffet in Ipoh called the Riche Montana korean barbecue ( more info please visit here).

It was a great meal and the food was very nice. We can either try steambot or BBQ the food. The restaurant offered a lot of varieties and they even provided a lot of cooked food ( if you are too lazy to do steambot or bbq, then you can just eat the food they served. hehe...)

BBQ or steambot? up to you...

plenty of food for you to cook.

some cooked food for you to eat while waiting for the food to cook. actually there are plenty more just that I forgot to snap the pics because too busy eating. hehe...

the "professional eaters" of the night. (i look like a teddy bear in this pic, no?please say no.... :D)

ohya, they offered some desserts and drinks as well, but then no pics. hehee...next time if going again shall take the pics then. hehe...

fly, aeroplane fly!

I once heard this statement from a girl saying: " I cannot understand why boys like to fly planes!no matter how old they are!".

well, that's a statement hard to explain. hehe...so, yea, some of us, the guys, went and flew the plane the other day. not the real plane, just a remote control plane. :)

some minor maintenance check before taking off...

the owner of the plane was flying the plane, another guy friend was holding the remote control. :P

oh ya, it flew!

wheee.....

perfect....

owh....it landed!

hehe...yea, of course it crashed a few times and didn't really fly high the first few times. but after that, the second day, it flew high up and circled few rounds in the sky! hehe...it was such a thrilling moment! huhu...

An old house

Hi there, sorry people, it has been a while since I last updated, was really busy and tied up with my Final Year Project and also upcoming test. But still, i find time to update! hehe...

It is still Chinese New Year, and yea, just wish to share some experience when I went back home for the celebration.

This year, i went back to visit my mother's old house. Yea, in case you din know, i grew up by the river last time when i was very very young ( less than 5 years old that time).

Took some pictures, just to share with you all. :) hehe...

the wooden old house, the place i grew up as a Kampung boy, or river boy...hehe....

this is the long infamous wooden bridge that connects the river deep into the jungle. :D

the river view...see the colour of the river? :) It's the Baram River.

another view of the river, note the colour of the river, hehe...it's getting darker due to the landslide of the riverbanks.

anyone has any idea what is this? hehe... it's the floating toilet. :) interesting? hehe...

haha....glad the house is still there. but dunno when will be the next time i ever see it again. :) hope it is still there the next time i go back . hehe...

ready to fly

the safest place on earth is the place where God calls you to be; for me, that place will be the happiest place for you to be as well. :)

cheers. wish you have a great day ahead.

First day of Chinese New Year-Foo chow style

During the first day of Chinese New Year, according to the foo chow's tradition (according to my grandfather perhaps), we need to take "mee sua"(longevity noodles) with chicken soup. :) super yummy...hehe...

first, the noodles are put into the boiling water to cook it.

then, the noodles are taken up from the boiling water...lol

then the noodles are mixed with the well cooked chicken soup...

everyone will get one bowl! hehe...here's the trick, if u want to eat less noodles, finish the noodles fast, if you finish the noodles slowly, the noodles will keep on increasing as the time goes. why? cause the water will soak the noodles and expand the noodles thus making the noodles seem longer! hehee...

and of course, we eat with the chicken as well....very tasty! super like it. you all should try! heheh...

Happy Chinese New Year once again! Gong Xi Gong Xi. :D
